Ok sorry for the disappearing act. School was kicking my butt but I won. It was my birthday month so I got to hang out with my loved ones and of course shop. All the while keeping on track of a no spend month. Thank god for moms’ right?! I just fell behind. It happens. Going forward I’ll be taking out the “Artists of the month.” Both artists I had lined up life happened and the others I reached out to didn’t respond. So, for now, it’s axed. I find something to fill the space unless you have ideas?
I’m keeping the “Podcast of the month” section. I love that section and I have some new podcasts for you to sink into.
Side note: Tonyan’s Cinnamon Rolls are to die for with an amazing playlist going. So zen. I love it here.
Hey! Have you guys heard the new gorilla album I love it. I’m so happy there back. Maybe I turn the artists’ section into a media section. Like Movies, music, etc.
Back to school starting this Fall I’ll be focusing on beefing my GPA since that’s the only thing holding me back. So applications will go out this coming September! Whoo!
Dreams are metaphorical and I listen to them heavily. That being said I might look into business minors… we’ll see.
Upcoming This Week
So this week I’ll be giving an update on podcasts of the month and maybe Netflix list of must watch with a review. Cause I love Riverdale and I think you should too lol.
I just did a mini haul at my local Michael’s so I’ll be talking on that and we’ll finally have an update in the planning section of this crazy world.
I’ve dived into the dark world of Webinars and Virtual Assistants. maybe I’ll do a post on those ventures. So look out in my VA section for more.
Anyways hello Summer! I embrace you with open arms. I see you all on Wednesday!
Life so fleeting. We must value the moment we have. I just get notice of my aunts passing which is why I didn’t post yesterday with her funeral being next Saturday. It’s been difficult for my family however, I think we should celebrate life while we can. So in lieu of me not posting I will upload 2 posts today this one and a “ 20 things you should know about me” and next week something uplifting. I was going over my last post on planning and I spoke on starting out planning. I hope you enjoyed it. This week’s tip is probably the best tip I’ve received. You ready here it is- Pace yourself. Don’t go crazy with buying everything under the sun.
Research- Watch all the YouTubes, read all the articles.
Find your niche- What do you want to keep track of? Fitness, family, budgeting, school. All the above? I started with just one in December I now have 3. Bought one in December, one in April, and one last month (seasonal student pack)
Then buy the necessary supplies and make them last- buy one of each to hold you over until the next spending day or do like I do and buy kits also I’d invest in sticker paper to make copies of favorite stickers.
I’m all about budget planning so pacing yourself and reward process is the best way that’s worked for me. Ok, I can get two sticker books and wait for the next 50% off stickers from Michaels and then get 3 instead. I think they drop down to 10.00 at that point.
Just remember you don’t have to go bankrupt. You don’t have to buy everything at once if you can’t afford it- like college students like me. It took me a little over 6 months to accumulate my selection and still going. I don’t have everything I want but half the fun is in the anticipation. Something to look forward to. If I had bought everything I wanted in December I would have to wait till April for the new planners and even then wouldn’t need them and even buy them knowing I didn’t- see the wasted money. I also would miss out on great sales. Sales are the planners’ grease pot you can buy lots without spending crazy amounts. Most creators have a $2 Tuesday sales where they offer full sheets of some stickers for just $2. Yep- $ 2 dollars. Also, most shop owners have private Facebook groups you can join for discounts and sometimes free printables something to think about. Below is just one of many.
Another tip is communication- be friendly and just ask all they can do is say no. but at least you know either way. Planner designers work hard but sometimes they forget a certain section or group. It happens they’re going to target the places they know is going to make the most revenue. People got to make a living. So it’s up to us “forgotten sub-groups” to speak up and ask. Now sometimes it’s not all sugar and cookies sometimes it doesn’t work out and your favorite sticker has to take a back burner. Like another shop, I had a bad experience even after 2 purchases and they’ve lost a customer for now all I will say is there’s no reason for me to pay for my shipping especially since I’ve made a purchase. Also taking more than 3- 4 weeks to get to me especially when we’re in the same country and my overseas order got to me first when I’ve ordered you both on the same day is a problem. Top it with the tone I received with the inquiry just rubbed me wrong. However, I won’t bash them because they might change.
On the other hand, I just did a mini student haul for Happy Planner and one of the sheets didn’t come out right so instead of ranting or bashing them online I contacted the customer service. Not only did they respond within minutes of me sending an email they resolved the issue. Great! They’ve received a forever customer. I love the happy life.
What are some of your planner weaknesses? Mines is obviously stickers lol comment below. Again thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
Wow! What a week! Well first let’s get the bad news out of the way first. 1st I’m on a no spend this month it’s only day 5 and I’m DYING! But I’m learning to budget and save I’ll thank myself later. 2nd happy planner is dropping their student and teacher things late May the cheeky things… but it’s my birthday month so the gods will smile on me and someone will gift me things… hopefully. And 3rd my artist fell through life happens but that means you guys don’t get an artist this month. I’m sorry, but I have a list of artists to reach out to so I’ll conduct an email to send out to all of them and fingers crossed someone bites. Otherwise, I’ll just give you links and pretty pics in my artist section. Now the good stuff. How’d you like the planner series? What are you interested in? Comment below. I’m having fun doing the planner series. My birthday was a hit! I got chocolate covered strawberries and free churros from this new restaurant where I live it’s called The Galley this fish and beer place and they have these Surf n’ Turf fries let’s just say I had 3 orders last week and again on my birthday. I LOVE FOOD. I also got a free pizza from Papa Johns so like I said GREAT birthday. Well in the desert it’s Spring officially tidbit about Desi- I’m ALWAYS cold just ask my boyfriend and family lol so when I have on my fan and am sporting shorts with sports bra it’s hot.
Lol I love the desert but man it can get brutal. School is almost over I have 2 more weeks till summer vacation then summer school. So I’ll be catching up on my Career Step and trying to figure out the magic formula for my blog. So thank you for bearing with me! I’m like so close to figuring out MailChimp so hopefully, I can get an email set up. What would you guys like to see as a freebie or tip?
I also noticed that I didn’t do Podcast of the Month. I was still reeling from my birthday weekend so forgive me? Yes? Ok, so podcast of the month is (Drum Roll) LORE! Aaron Menke is a genius and if you haven’t checked him out and love horror and suspense stories go do so. Hurry! I’ll have the links posted in my Podcast Section.
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Whoo!!! Ok, it’s out of my system lol. So this is my second post on planning tips and things. Last week we discussed how and why I got into planning. Today I’ll talk about my process from then to now. I started planning in January and started blogging in April. And I love to completely submerse myself in new things. If I like something I want everything! I think the hardest part was pacing myself while diving into the world of planning. Washi tape here, sticker pack there, paper cutter (finally) and right when I get in the groove of the holy grail- the Michaels coupon. I get slapped with a no spend month and my birth month too L but discipline is needed. Seriously so bad. But starting planning I was okay pacing myself I didn’t know about etsy. I didn’t know about sticker groups on FB and I definitely didn’t know about any planner conferences. I’m still learning but it was easier being naïve. I started my first week with not enough but still too much. I mean it’s crazy the transition. Crazy tape, raised sticky note cut outs and more. See.
I used to over analyze my weeks stress about color themes and stickers and using stickers. All the while trying to not plan too many weeks ahead. Cause remember it’s all about pacing. Add in the thousand upon thousands of YouTube videos you kind of get overwhelmed with all the info. I tried to use everything but saving cause I said I was pacing myself so I didn’t have everything. Free printables are your friend. Seriously set aside an hour or two and dive into Pinterest for free printables for your planner. I’ll link my Pinterest planning board so you can see. One of the most useful piece of information I’ve watched or heard from one of the many planners I followed is sticky before planning and just go with the flow. Well ok, that’s two but I needed them and they changed everything. Yes, I use to just write into my planner- crazy right? Insane. Now I have sticky notes in my planner binder and before ink hits my week it’s littered with sticky notes like so.
I love planning. It’s relaxing to me. What are some of your favorite methods when you plan? Comment below.
Here’s my planner Pinterest feel free to take a gander!
It’s May! My birthday month! Happy May Day everyone! This week I’ve been dabbling in printables you know box plots and what not. It’s interesting. I know last month we had an “Artist of the month” and it went great! Congrats to the winners. But this month I’ve put out feelers but alas nothing I have a whole list of people to call out to but it’s the matter of someone getting back to me. I’m a new blog so slim chances, but for you, I will keep trying. Cause I love you guys. This month is my no- spend month and man I need it. So many planner supplies and no room to put it- it’s shameless. Lucky I ordered from Etsy so I’ll be getting things throughout May so it’ll feel like I’m shopping lol. What are your tips when it comes to budgeting? Or doing no-spends. Do you have a group to keep you on track or do you go alone? Comment down below. I wanted to wait to post this cause my glasses were due to arrive today- it said out to delivery … and they’ve arrived so stinking cute! I can see lol
I celebrated my birthday this past weekend with my boyfriend hence no Friday update- Sorry. But you guys get to know what took up my time. So he picks me up Friday saying we’re going to Olive Garden he’s got a coupon. I’m like cool I’m down and it’s been forever since I’ve been and I got these shoes I’ve never worn so yay semi- new outfit. But guys there’s this new Fish restaurant up here and they have these Surf n’ Turf fries and well I had them 2 already but 3rd time the charm right? Lol so I convince him to go there instead- I’m simple like that. But does he order the surf but nope he gets a burrito and wants to share my fries! Yes, he paid but I raved about these fries all week and you order a burrito! Lol, babe why? So I reluctantly share…. I hate sharing food but hey I love the guy. So next day we go to the observatory and guys it’s AMAZING! I loved it! The stars and the view (you could see the Hollywood sign- although I was more interested in the mass amount of trails you could see. But amazing nevertheless then we went to go see Jesus Christ: Superstar. Where Judas was the star and they spiced up the relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus which as a Christian I’m a little offended but it’s the art and a play so I try not to take it too seriously. Lol so this month we’ll have some of my own printables and some of my favorite free printables so stay tuned.
Happy Birthday to all the May babies! And special happy month to those who birthed us! Without the mother, the woman the creator of man we would NOT exist!
